For over 50 years, ECSLA has been representing the interests of thousands of cold store facilities throughout Europe with a total capacity of more than 40 million m3. With its main office in Brussels, ECSLA offers customized services to the different segments in the market:

  • Individual public refrigerated warehouses, cold stores and logistics operators
  • National associations of cold stores and distribution companies
  • Suppliers of products/services to the industry
  • Scientists, researchers, universities, institutions etc.

ECSLA is the sole representative of the cold storage industry at a European level and as such the real voice of the European cold store and temperature controlled logistics industry.

The core services of this non-profit organization can be grouped as follows:

Networking platform
The many activities throughout the year offer all links of the cold chain industry the opportunity to network with international colleagues and to discuss market developments, industry trends and best practices.

Education, training and research
Both in the spring and fall ECSLA offers a 2-days conference with international speakers covering important industry topics and committee meetings on Refrigeration & Energy, Operations & Technology and Legislation & Lobbying.
Benchmarking and industry surveys give in-depth knowledge of the industry. 

Information and database
The many newsletters, monthly magazine, publications, the library and the data in the Members Only section of the website are all extremely valuable tools for company  management and easy accessible for all staff members.

Legislation and lobbying in Brussels
With 80% of the legislation affecting our industry coming from Brussels, ECSLA has its own full time lobbyist in Brussels to defend the interests of ECSLA members. The lobbying and monitoring activities focus on the following themes: Environment, F-Gas, Energy Efficiency, Food Safety and (Refrigerated) Transportation.

Marketing and promotion
Being the voice of the industry in Europe, ECSLA takes responsibility in collectively creating publicity and contributing to the industry image of safe, reliable and efficient. The ultimate goal is to have all European industry associations from all cold chain links involved in this.
